FAQs

Race day is bound to be an exciting and busy day for us all. Here you can find out the key details of what’s going to be happening, as well as the proposed schedule. This is subject to change, so please refer back to this page for up-to-date information.

In order to reduce the environmental footprint of Bourn to Run, we have decided not to give out water bottles at the end of the event. Please make sure you bring your own water bottle which you will be able to fill with drinking water from the outside tap on the left of the pavilion. All runners will receive a medal at the finish line, however, if you would like to gift your medal back to us for use in future years, then please do.

We will also be joined by Star Radio’s Josh Lovett who will be MCing the event, talking to our sponsors and interviewing people on the day.

All pre-registered runners will be sent their race packs in the post prior to the event.

For runners wishing to register on the day, the registration tent will open at 8:30am.

The registration tent will be located at the entrance to Bourn Jubilee Recreation Ground, across the road from Manor Farm where car parking will be available (see tab below).

Parts of the route will include crossing road junctions and we therefore strongly advise you NOT to wear mp3 players or headsets during the race, for the safety of yourself and others.

This is a multi-terrain event and all competitors enter it at their own risk. Whilst medical assistance is available throughout, no liability will be accepted by either Bourn Primary Academy, Bourn Sports Club, Bourn School Association or individual race organisers for any injury or illness incurred by entering this race. We ask you NOT to bring your dogs on this occasion, for the safety and comfort of all competitors.

Access to the car park will be available from 8:30am until 9:55am when the car park will close to allow for the road closure from 10am onwards. Parking will be clearly marked, with marshals and car parking attendants to guide you. Please do not park on the roads in Bourn as they may form part of the course. Please try and enter the village of Bourn from the direction of the A428 and turn on to the Broadway (B1046), to minimise traffic in the centre of the village.

Cars will not be allowed to park at the Recreation Ground for the duration of the race. The organisers are not liable for any damage to cars left in the car park so please ensure no valuables are left inside.

For the safety of all our competitors, no car will be allowed to leave the car park until 12:00 noon.

The car park is adjacent to the 3km route and is only accessible via a single lane track. On leaving the car park there will be marshals to direct you.

Please note: there is NO parking available at Bourn Village Hall due to a function taking place here. Therefore, please do NOT park here.

We’d like to thank Advanced Performance who have provided the race numbers. Your number should be secured to your chest using the safety pins provided. Please remember to complete the emergency contact information along with any health issues on the back of your race number before attaching it.

All 10km and 3km times will be recorded by chip timing for anyone who has pre-registered. Failure to secure your chip in accordance with the instructions, or loss of your chip, will mean your time is not recorded. All times will be uploaded to the website as soon as possible after the event. All recorded times are final and indisputable. This is a charitable event staffed by volunteers and, whilst every effort will be made to record finish times, the committee take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately.

The chip timer will be contained within your race day pack and should be attached to your shoe (see video below).

Toilets are available at the entrance to the Recreation Ground.

A bag drop facility will be available beside the registration tent. Please note this will be unmanned and the event organisers can not be held responsible for loss or damage to any items left in this area.

All items are left at owners risk.

Refreshments as well as a range of activities for runners and their supporters to enjoy before, during and after the race will be available at the Recreation Ground:

  • Tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes, ice-creams

  • BBQ chefs grilling bacon, burgers and sausages from Knibbs Meat Safe. Vegetarian options available too!

  • Face painting, pottery, mini golf, henna and LOTS more……, and of course the full Recreation Ground playground to enjoy

If you are registering on the day of the event, please arrive early! For on site registrations we cannot guarantee that your run will be chip timed.

Race packs for pre-registered runners will be sent out in advance of the race in the post.

We would like to thank our 2023 sponsors who have kindly funded medals for all of our race finishers.

In order to reduce the amount of plastic, this year we have taken the decision NOT to give water out at the end of the race. However, drinking water will be available from the outside tap at the Pavilion, so please bring a water bottle with you!
